Job Description
As a Quantitative Researcher focusing on digital assets, you will be a key player in a rapidly evolving and highly dynamic market. You will leverage your quantitative and programming skills to develop and implement systematic trading strategies for cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. This role is for a highly analytical and creative problem-solver who can thrive in an environment with high volatility and unique market microstructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Strategy Development: Employ a rigorous scientific approach to research, develop, and test new alpha-generating trading strategies. This includes analyzing high-frequency market data, on-chain analytics, and other unique data sources.
- Model Building: Build and refine predictive models for price movements, volatility, and liquidity in cryptocurrency markets.
- Backtesting & Simulation: Conduct thorough backtesting of trading strategies using historical and simulated data to assess performance, robustness, and risk.
- Collaboration: Work closely with quantitative developers, traders, and data scientists to translate research models into production-ready code for real-time trading.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on cryptocurrency market trends, blockchain protocols, and regulatory developments to inform strategy design and identify new opportunities.
- Risk Management: Continuously refine models and strategies to adapt to the unique volatility and liquidity characteristics of crypto markets, and integrate risk controls.
Requirements
- Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or Financial Engineering.
- Proven experience in quantitative research, ideally in high-frequency trading or cryptocurrency markets.
- Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling. Familiarity with C++ is often a plus.
- Expertise in statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and machine learning techniques.
- Deep understanding of cryptocurrency market microstructure, blockchain technology, and DeFi protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to derive insights from noisy and complex datasets.
Skills
- Core Skills:
- Programming Languages: Python is a must-have for data analysis and modeling. C++ is highly valued for developing high-frequency trading (HFT) strategies due to its performance.
- Statistical and Machine Learning Expertise: Deep knowledge of time-series analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques is crucial for building predictive models.
- Data Science: Experience with large and unstructured datasets, including on-chain analytics and other alternative data sources, is a significant advantage.
- Domain-Specific:
- Cryptocurrency and Blockchain: A strong understanding of cryptocurrency market microstructure, various blockchain protocols, and the mechanics of DeFi (Decentralized Finance) is essential.
- Soft skills:
- Problem-Solving: The ability to think creatively and solve complex problems in a highly volatile and evolving market.
- Adaptability: The crypto market changes rapidly, so the ability to quickly adapt strategies and learn new technologies is key.
